Broadgate Capital Advisors to Focus
on Capital Requirements of Mid-Sized Companies
NEW YORK, May 12, 2003 – Mid-sized companies are facing more capital
access challenges due to a convergence of issues such as the collapse of the
IPO markets, the growth of non-traditional financing sources, the contraction
of the bank lending market and the aftermath of the Wall Street Settlement and
other recent regulatory reforms.
Broadgate Capital Advisors (BCA), an independent and unbiased strategic and
tactical corporate finance advisory firm, has been formed to address the special
capital requirements of companies with revenues between $100 million and $500
million. BCA is a unit of Broadgate Consultants, Inc., a corporate and capital
markets communications firm.
James R. Simpson and James S. Archibald, both of whom have more than 20 years
of corporate finance and banking experience, will lead BCA.
Mr. Simpson has served as Chief Financial Officer of C.S. Brooks, Inc. and
of Moore Medical Corp., Treasurer of Sandoz Corp., Assistant Treasurer of Combustion
Engineering, Partner of Greenwich Treasury Advisors, and Consulting Manager
at KPMG. He also gained international finance experience while at PepsiCo, Inc.
Mr. Archibald has held several senior domestic and international line management
positions, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Managing
Director and Board Member of several captive companies while at Citigroup. He
was also a Senior Credit Officer with authority of $2 billion and is an expert
in asset based lending, real estate and equipment finance leasing.
