ATLANTA: Jackson Spalding, the Atlanta-based image
creation, cultivation and communication firm, has opened an office in Athens, Ga., to
serve state-wide communications needs and the growing business community in northeast
Georgia.
In Athens, Jackson Spalding will serve primarily companies and organizations within the
corridor between Interstates 85 and 20, encompassing counties such as Clarke, Greene,
Gwinnett, Jackson, Madison, Oconee and Oglethorpe. Industries expected to thrive in the
region include real estate, healthcare, education and professional services, all of which
dovetail with Jackson Spalding's expertise. The Athens office will also serve other
Jackson Spalding clients that need local insights and service.
"Our commitment to Athens reflects Jackson Spalding's desire to serve business needs
throughout the state and beyond," said Bo Spalding, principal of Jackson Spalding.
"Our expansion recognizes the growth and importance of the region, and our desire to
serve clients with local resources, knowledge and perspective."
Jackson Spalding will be the first mid-size communications firm to establish local
operations. From its office in the restored Hodgson Oil Co. building in downtown Athens,
Jackson Spalding will provide strategic communications counsel and services including
media relations, employee communications, graphic design, marketing services, crisis
communications, speech development and grassroots PR.
Brian Brodrick, a member of the Jackson Spalding team since 1997 and a Watkinsville
resident, heads the new Athens office. With a background in journalism, media relations
and strategic communications, Mr. Brodrick has led many Jackson Spalding accounts,
including Post Properties, the Georgia Research Alliance and Georgia Humanities Council.
"There has never been a better time to live and build a business in northeast
Georgia," Mr. Brodrick said. "Over the 20 years I have spent in the region, I
have really grown to appreciate the depth of opportunity in the area. I am proud to lead
the expansion of Jackson Spalding into the region and, with our team, to provide services
that will help businesses and communities reach their full potential."
