We’re excited to be sponsoring TEDxCambridgeUniversity, an independently organised network run by students at the University of Cambridge designed to share novel ideas and foster innovation.

TEDxCambridgeUniversity aims to bring ideas worth sharing to the city with the aim of connecting like-minded people across the University, welcoming students, postgraduates, professors, scientists and artists from a variety of sectors and interests.

The organisation runs annual TEDxCambridgeUniversity conferences, combining live speakers with TED videos to spark conversation and inspiration amongst its network. The theme for this year’s conference, to be held in Cambridge on 11th February 2017, is ‘Jumping off the Shoulders of Giants’. The conference will look at the dichotomy between tradition and innovation and ask whether true innovation can be built on tradition, or if it requires something radically new.

The conference will look at a broad range of topics, ranging from philosophy and physics to art and anthropology. This year’s speakers include: Andrew Smyth (aerospace engineer at Rolls-Royce and finalist in The Great British Bake Off), Andrew Marr (journalist and TV presenter), Douwe Keila (researcher at Facebook Artificial Intelligence Research), Julie Krohner (ethnographic researcher) and Bertolt Meyer (professor and director of the Institute of Psychology at Technische Universität Chemnitz in Germany).

Simon Fryer, KISS CEO, commented, “As an ideas agency working with clients in the innovative technology, science and education sectors, we’re excited to be sponsoring such an inspiring event. We’re big fans of TED talks, watching and discussing inspiring talks as a team on a regular basis. TEDxCambridgeUniversity is a fantastic platform for spreading innovation and harvesting exciting ideas. Continuing to bring fresh ideas to Cambridge will keep the city firmly on the global map and ensure it remains a world leader in education, science and technology.”
